CHAPTER ELEVEN

KRAKEN

“You telling me this Culebra fucker had the nerve to come up to you while you were with Everly and threaten all of us?” Dag sneers, curling his lip in disgust.

I just finished filling the rest of my brothers in this morning over what happened yesterday afternoon at the museum. The only ones who knew about it before now are Logi, Vanir—because they met me there as I asked—Runes and Fenrir. My Prez and VP to say the least aren’t pleased with the latest events. Especially when Runes has a newborn baby at home.

They wanted to call church last night but decided to wait until this morning. It’s one of the reasons Runes and Fenrir are damn good at their jobs. The two of them will put their heads together to figure a game plan to put in place to protect the club. Plus, those two balance each other out.

Last night, Runes agreed when I asked if Everly could stay with him and Fern for the night. I explained about needing to set eyes on Magnolia and he understood.

“If it was Fern, I’d be in your shoes wanting to make sure she’s safe,” Runes stated when I asked.

I spent the night with Magnolia in my arms, though she slept while I didn’t. I wasn’t able to. I kept thinking about what that bastard said about her and Everly—both my girls. This is something I’m not about to allow to happen.

This morning, I left before Magnolia woke up, but I did it by leaving a note next to the coffee pot for her. Fuck, I don’t think I’ve ever done shit like that for anyone. In fact, me not fucking her sweet honey pot last night was something new for me all together. Yeah, I ate her pussy in the shower, but I didn’t need her to repay the favor. The only thing swirling through my head was the fact I wanted to hold her close to me. I didn’t want anything to happen to Mags.

This all leads to where we are right now, with us sitting around the table in kirkja.

“Yeah, the fuckers are becoming ballsy,” I say, balling my hand into a fist on the table and sit back further in my chair. Scanning over each of my brother's features at the table, I realize not for the first time, I’m lucky to have them at my back.

“Kraken came to Runes and me last night about what happened, and Vanir’s been up all night looking deeper into the situation,” Fenrir announces, flexing his fingers, cracking his knuckles as he braces his elbows on the edge of the table. The tension rolling off him alone matches the murderous expression forming on his face.

“Vanir, did you find anything new?” Runes asks, his gaze locked on my brother sitting across from me.

“Same as everything else I’ve found so far. I did reach out to Skadi and she’s deep into the neck of things right now. Told me she’d call in when she could.
